Walford Village Hall Improvements

Walford Village Hall have just completed upgrading of the heating system with the replacement of radiators in the main hall, kitchen and meeting room.  This work has been funded by the Village Hall together with a generous grant from Walford Parish Council.

Enjoying Public Rights of Way Over Farmland

PLEASE respect livestock in fields when using our paths.

If you are a runner, you may not realize that stock may be frightened if you run towards & through them.

PLEASE be respectful & careful.

There is a runner locally, who’s actions have caused havoc.  If you are that person – PLEASE take some care in fields with livestock: slow down & be aware of how the animals are reacting to you.  If stock are scared, & run through fences, serious injury may result.

New Community Support Scheme Coordinator

I am delighted to introduce myself, Be Mackintosh, as the newly appointed WCSS coordinator.  Having previously lived in Hom Green for 14 years I am delighted to be able to contribute back to the community in my new role.

Despite the current circumstances I have been in contact with many of our service users and volunteers and felt very uplifted by the positive coping strategies everyone has during this unusual time.

Our volunteers have been amazing at shopping, collecting prescriptions, walking dogs and just being a point of contact for so many.

Having spoken to many of our service users I was delighted to hear they had been enjoying their gardens, walking with friends and family, and have had coffee with friends over the hedge!!!

Although everyone is missing our social activities especially the coffee mornings as soon as lockdown is over I will organise some events for us all to enjoy.

The WCSS would be delighted to hear from anybody who may have time to volunteer or if there is anybody who needs our support please do not hesitate to get in touch.
