The role of the Clerk is currently contracted for 12 hours per week with salary based on the NJC national scale and commensurate with experience and qualifications.  CILCA and/or accountancy qualifications would be a significant advantage.

  6.  To receive and deal with, in accordance with the council’s procedures, any or all correspondence and documents.
  7. To receive and report on invoices for goods and services for the council and to ensure such accounts are met. To issue invoices on behalf of the council and to ensure payment is received.

  9. To advise on the practicality and likely effects of specific courses of action, proposed by the council.
  10. To monitor the implemented policies of the council to ensure they are achieving the desired results and, where appropriate, suggest changes.
  11. To act as the representative of the council as required.

Bishopswood Village Hall Is Open For Hire Again!

Bishopswood Village Hall

We have all missed meeting up with our friends and neighbours and we greatly value our community activities, but your safety is our prime concern, therefore, at this time, we can accommodate up to 30 people at any one event.  Social distancing MUST be observed – with any guests staying within their own ‘bubble’ or household.

Inside the hall – there is yellow tape at 2 metre intervals – hand sanitisers throughout – and a cleaning station inside the main hall with tissues, anti-bacterial wipes, hand sanitiser and a bin (think “catch it – bin it – kill it”). And lots of posters – just as a friendly reminder.

If you are thinking of hiring the hall, there are additional conditions of hire in place that can be accessed via the website  (on the “Hire” page). PLEASE read them thoroughly.

We have not been idle during lockdown – the hall has been constantly kept clean and tidy and has had a deep, steam clean.  The outside has been cleaned and painted, and we have had a ‘social distanced’ tidy up around the grounds.  We have used this as an opportunity to do the maintenance we would normally do during shutdown in August – so now there will be no interruption to hire through the summer months.

We will post updates on our website and on our Facebook page as they happen.

We look forward to seeing you again soon at Bishopswood Village Hall.

Thank you
The Trustees of Bishopswood Village Hall.

Summer Activities In Herefordshire

Find Summer Activities in Herefordshire

A new directory of summer activities has been developed on the WISH website, to help keep children and families active and entertained during the summer holidays, particularly in light of coronavirus.  We would be very grateful if you could help promote this information within your areas, by sharing any of the attached materials (please note the png’s are suitable for social media).

If you have any activities or events taking place during the holidays, we’d love to add them to the WISH events calendar, so we can help more people find what’s on across the county.  It’s quick, easy and free to do, simply visit the WISH website.

Alternatively, please contact the WISH Team directly with the relevant details, so they can add them on your behalf.  You can contact the team at info@wisherefordshire.org.
