The Initial Draft of the Walford Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan has been published on the NDP website.  At present it is incomplete, awaiting parishioner input on the preferred housing option, iconic views and a few other updates.  We welcome your comments and questions in preparation for Regulation-14 submission to Herefordshire Council.

The local seed swap will look different this year – a drop and swap!  I thought I would ‘host’ for our community.  We are at Oak View on Leys Hill (about a quarter of a mile up on the right).  A box/es will be left outside in our car port area.  It will start off with my small offering (although there will be plenty of Marigolds and Nasturtiums!), in the hope that others might drop by and add to it…  I thought I might have a veg/fruit seed box and a separate one for flowers.  Hand sanitiser will be provided.  Do let me know your thoughts by email at jacquinaomi@gmail.com if you have any further ideas!

The drafting of our Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) is progressing.  The project has been transferred from the Steering Group to the NDP Committee in preparation for Regulation 14 submission.

The meeting housing need and site assessment report has been published and can be read at: The Neighbourhood Plan – Walford Neighbourhood Development Plan (walford-ndp.co.uk).  Note: It is a large document consisting 18 summary pages and around 120 pages of detailed individual site assessment information.

During February and March, we will be holding live online seminars to get your opinion on the most suitable housing options to take forward into the NDP and the NDP policies.

The number of persons with Covid is increasing in Herefordshire, and there are cases in & around your parishes (Penyard, Goodrich and Llangarron) + Ross-on-Wye.

‘Stop the Spread’ is simple.  When mixing with/meeting people who don’t live in your household:

• Wear a mask
• Keep 2m distance
• Wash your hands (and surfaces) after contact

Follow the rules on getting tested and self-isolating:

• Get tested if you develop symptoms and self-isolate whilst awaiting the test result.
• Self-isolate if you test Covid-19 positive or are a contact of someone who has tested positive. When self-isolating you must stay home, shop online, ask friends and family for support.
• Respond to NHS Track and Trace and identify your contacts.

Minimise the number of in-person contacts:

• Connecting with friends and family is important but connect online whenever possible. If meeting in person keep to the rule of 6 and keep 2m from anyone outside your household.
• Fresh air is important – it helps to remove the virus in the air. So open windows, wear warmer clothes, and when meeting friends, do so outdoors whenever possible.
• Wear a face-mask in indoor places if not at home, and in busy outdoor places.
