Walford Parish Council are considering registering a flood group with Herefordshire Council.
A local flood group can receive training and be authorised to close roads that are becoming flooded, and will be provided with barriers and signs. The group will advise Herefordshire Council when a road is being closed and when they are re-opening it. This will prevent drivers becoming stuck in flood waters and also prevent drivers creating bow waves driving through flooded roads that overcome sand bags that create unnecessary flooding.
